Provincial Nominee Program

New Brunswick (NBPNP)

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of the province of New Brunswick.

New Brunswick is located on the Atlantic Ocean’s eastern coast. The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is an immigration program that selects and nominates foreign nationals who can fill labour market gaps and contribute to the local economy of New Brunswick.

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) Overview

The New Brunswick government established the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program to support the expansion of the province’s economy and population.

There are many available streams under their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP):

  • NB Express Entry Stream
  • NB Skilled Worker Stream
  • NB Business Immigration Stream
  • NB Strategic Initiative Stream for French-speaking Immigrants
  • NB Critical Worker Pilot
  • New Private Career College Graduate Pilot Program

New Brunswick Express Entry Stream

The NB Express Entry Stream of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is linked to the federal Express Entry system, which enhances your chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency from IRCC. If you are equipped with the necessary skills, qualifications, and work experience required for the in-demand occupations in New Brunswick, you can apply for this stream.

The requirements include:

  • Create a Federal Express Entry profile and be entered the selection pool
  • Fulfill the criteria for at least one of the following Federal Express Entry Immigration programs:
    • Federal Skilled Worker Program
    • Federal Skilled Trades Program
    • Canadian Experience Class
  • Meet the requirements specified in the NB Express Entry Stream, as outlined in the ExpressEntryGuide-E.pdf document available on the WelcomeNB website

New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream

The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream is designed for foreign nationals who have the necessary skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of New Brunswick. To be eligible, candidates must meet the program’s minimum requirements, including having a legitimate job offer from an employer in New Brunswick and a genuine intention to reside and work in the province on a permanent basis.

This program serves as a solution for New Brunswick employers who are unable to find Canadian citizens or permanent residents to fill job vacancies. It allows them to recruit foreign nationals and international graduates who have the required skills needed in the province.

New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream

The New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream is an avenue for experienced entrepreneurs seeking economic immigration. They can establish, operate, and actively manage a business while permanently settling in New Brunswick.

Applicants applying through this stream must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria related to age, language proficiency, education, personal net worth, business ownership, and/or senior management experience, as well as the business concept. These requirements must be met at the time of Expression of Interest (EOI) submission, application submission, and nomination. However, meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee nomination.

New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream

The New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream is designed for individuals who are proficient in French and have the necessary skills, education, and work experience to make a positive contribution to the economy of New Brunswick. This stream specifically targets French-speaking workers who are prepared to permanently reside and work in New Brunswick.

New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot

The New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot is a 5-year pilot program, aimed at addressing severe labor shortages across multiple sectors and regions in the province. Its primary objective is to attract skilled workers to occupations that have historically faced challenges in recruitment and are expected to remain difficult to fill in the future.

As an employer-driven stream, the Critical Worker Pilot focuses on the targeted recruitment of skilled workers. Consequently, individuals interested in participating in the program must apply through their prospective employer who is a participant in the pilot. Direct applications from candidates are not accepted under this program.

New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot

The New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot is designed for specific international graduates to make a positive impact on the economy of New Brunswick. The primary goal of this pilot program is to provide an immigration pathway for international graduates who have completed specific one-year and two-year programs in priority occupations.

These priority occupations include Education and Social Development, Health, IT and Cybersecurity, Business Administration, and Supply Chain and Logistics. The pilot program aims to facilitate the integration of these graduates into the New Brunswick workforce and contribute to the province’s economic growth.
