On November 4, 2024, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) announced the closure of the Entrepreneur Stream, following a pause on new applications that began on December 4, 2023. The program will undergo amendments to facilitate its wind-down.

Current applicants will continue to have their applications processed under the updated regulations, which means that current applicants may be eligible for nomination for permanent residence based on the commitments they have made to establish their business in Ontario.

The government will reach out to all current applicants and their representatives shortly with additional information and next steps regarding the application process.
