#189 Express Entry Draw | PNP score observes a decrease, 39 points lower than the previous!
On May 26, 2021, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued invitations to 500 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.
The lowest-ranked candidate scored 713, which is 39 points less than the previous PNP draw.

Per data from the previous 12 months, PNP’s lowest draw scores did not manifest a clear upward or downward trend. The recent PNP draws implied IRCC’s reservation on lowering the bar for PNP candidates. Unlike PNP, the lowest draw scores for 2021’s Canadian Experienced Class (CEC) exhibit a perpetual decline.
At first glance, PNP minimum line’s fluctuations may look disheartening. However, there is no diminishment in the candidates’ enthusiasm to apply.
IRCC statistics on May 25th shows that the number of people in the 601-1200 score range increased from 203 to 477 in the last eight days. Although the candidates more than doubled, one’s chance of being invited remains consistent–almost 100%.
In February, 2021, IRCC stated its willingness to grant domestic applicants permanent residency via different means. The most evident reason for such decision is the COVID-19 travelling restrictions, which drastically limited foreign nationals’ entrance to Canada. Based on IRCC’s statements, the leniency towards domestic applicants will last at least till the termination of travel bans.
This week, Canadian provinces have demonstrated their respective ambitions for economic recoveries. With high hopes of border re-openings, the clock is ticking for those who want to enter the draw pool. We suggest eligible candidates to gather their requirement documents promptly, and enter the EE pool as soon as possible.
